Data Center Decom Technician - Jundiaí
Amazon is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Entry-Level Rack Decommissioning Technician which is responsible for processing and facilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed off premises. Team members will also process large volumes of customer data to ensure that all customer data is sanitized and properly managed.You will work in a team environment and collaborate with other teams, which requires strong communication skills. Amazon Data Centers takes customer data with the utmost importance, and selected candidates must be able to perform repetitive tasks without variance and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that ensures customer data is protected and properly handled.
Technician will be allocated in the São Paulo state, however will also provide support to other Data Centers locations when required.
Responsibilities
Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of the data center facilities
Relocating and moving of large enterprise equipment
Hard drive/SSD installation, removal and destruction
Creating/attaching labels and bar codes
Basic Networking removal/installation and clearing of configurations
Updating progress through a web ticketing system
Documenting procedures
Escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required
Work with basic computers components/hardware: HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media, USB/FireWire/E-sata and Ram/CPU/Motherboard/Input-Output devices
Basic Qualification
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Ongoing Bachelor or Associate degree in IT related fields with a proven minimum experience of 6 months on related areas.
Able to work with a ticketing prioritization systems
Able to follow a well-defined technical standard operational procedure (SOP)
Fluent in Portuguese
Must exhibit good written and read communication skills in English
It may require to travel locally and/or internationally - 80%
This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 18Kg; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines

Amazon is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Data Center Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations and provide hands on support for its Data Center location. Scope of work includes: Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and coordination with Data Center Manager; troubleshooting and repairing servers with hardware and network issues. Work involves hardware diagnostic and replacement of failed components. Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision and handle multiple priorities.
Technician will be allocated in the São Paulo state, however will also provide remote support to other Data Centers in the region when required. They'll be responsible for day to day incident management of servers, networking equipment and cabling.
The Data Center Operations is a team and this position is to work on non-business hours
Basic Qualifications
3-5 years of IT support experience.
At least 2 years of experience collaborating with multiple teams to resolve customers' issues.
1-2 years work experience in the creation of standard operation procedures and knowledge base articles.
Fluency in Portuguese and English (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with x86 architecture based systems.
Experience with Linux or similar OS.
Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting.
Understanding of storage devices.
Understanding of scripting languages.
Must exhibit good written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English. Spanish is a plus.
Perform hardware troubleshooting and components replacement.
At least 2 years of experience providing leadership to more junior team members
Highly organized and able to coordinate complex tasks with other team members.
Proven track of providing creative solutions to recurring problems and last minute capacity demands.
Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment) is a plus
